Price and Sales in September hits high in eight years

September was the strongest month for home sales since 2007; the growth was mainly due to the activity in the North. Prices keep rising in South East, which has been experiencing strongest rise on comparing with the other regions. Growth in London is determined by more affordable areas. The leading report says that London housing market is back on track, which has been recording its biggest monthly boost since June

Overall, the average house prices across England and Wales have raised £11,500 in the last year, after 42 months of annual growth, which takes property values to a ninth consecutive record high this year, standing at £284,742.

Expert said: “The pace that England and Wales show in growth of house price certainly is showing its endurance. This growth is mainly underpinned by sturdy demand and firm activity at the bottom of the property ladder. The most frequently paid property price across England and Wales is just £125,000, whereas the Lower to mid-range properties priced between £180,000 and £360,000 are seeing the fastest increases in value.”
