remortgage-up-53-pcAsking prices in the UK increased by over 0.5% and stands at 0.7% or £2,277 in September. According to the data from Rightmove, the average asking price has rose over £306,450 and up 4% year on year. But in London prices increased by 1.9% recovering some ground after four consecutive monthly fall. But prices vary considerably in London with the annual changes in the most expensive and the cheapest areas.

Miles Shipside, Rightmove director and housing market analyst, says: “People to get onto the property ladder may be thoughtful in spite of the speculation of lower prices in a post EU result, while the referendum result has created additional downwards price pressure in some upper segments of the market that were already slowing in the post EU vote aftermath. The market continues to shake off the effect of the referendum result uncertainty, though more so in the lower end sector.”
