UK rental properties’ demand down marginally in July

london-homes-residential-nkiThe number of rental properties depending upon which the letting agents book, is in its highest level so far, as the demand for properties have fell slightly in July. But the private rental sector market is in positive shape following the EU result with the agents reporting no change to rent prices. According to the report from the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) of July shows that there were 184 rental properties on agents’ books, which is up 5% month on month; however, year on year supply is down.

David Cox, ARLA managing director, says: “Supply is up, as expected at this time of year, and the number of tenants experiencing rent hikes hasn’t changed in this quarter. While we obviously need new houses to balance the growing gap between supply and demand, what’s positive is that the situation isn’t worsening as a direct result of June’s EU result.”
