Annual house price growth 5.5pc in July

housingAnnual house price growth has slowed down to 5.5% in July, according to reports by Your Move and Reeds Rain. The survey also suggests transactions are down 20% over the quarter, compared year on year. From the reports, the east of England is the highest performing region, with the annual change in average house price for the three months at 9.3%, up from 9.1% last month.

Adrian Gill, director of Your Move and Reeds Rains estate agents, says: “Brexit may well have an impact on the housing market, but it’s not showing yet. Even when it does, there will be influences on the market, which clearly has some strong long term drivers for continued house price inflation.”
